"I was deeply saddened to learn of Bob's sudden passing," Director of Athletics Paul Schlickmann said. "On behalf of the Blue Devil athletics family, we extend our heartfelt sympathies to his family at this difficult time. It was my privilege getting to know Bob during the course of several visits these past four years. He always exuded positive energy, a great zest for life and a clear passion for CCSU and Blue Devil Athletics. He was a captivating story teller and a joy to be around. While his legacy as a Blue Devil student-athlete and CCSU Hall of Famer speaks for itself, I'm sure his greatest legacy will be the characteristics and qualities he imparted to his children, grandchildren and the countless young men and women he influenced as an educator, mentor and role model throughout his life and professional career."
Reagan starred on Head Coach Bill Detrick's teams from 1959-63. He was a co-captain in his senior season when the Blue Devils finished the regular season undefeated and ended the year with a 22-1 overall record. His team's went to a post-season tournament every season.
Reagan was the team's leading scorer in 1961, 1962 and 1963, finishing with 1,040 career points, which currently ranks 32nd on the all-time career scoring list for the Blue Devils. He was the team's most valuable player in 1963, as well as an All-New England selection that season. He was chosen as an honorable mention selection to the NAIA All-Star team in 1963.
Reagan scored more than 300 in each of his final three seasons, including a career-high 356 as a senior. During his four seasons his teams amassed a record of 69-20.
