Volleyball Swept by LIU on Senior Day
The Central Connecticut volleyball team fell to LIU Brooklyn in three sets on Sunday afternoon. The Blue Devils (9-14, 5-7 NEC) honored seniors Brittany Schumacher, Rachel Dunlap and Kyla Bielert prior to the match.

The Blackbirds (21-6, 12-0 NEC) won 25-13, 25-15 and 25-15 to sweep the match in three sets.
The Blue Devils were led by senior Rachel Dunlap who collected nine kills and hit .571 in the match. As a team CCSU hit just -0.024 for the match.
LIU's defense at the net limited the Blue Devils to 23 kills on 85 attacks with 25 attack errors. The Blackbirds posted 13.5 blocks in the match, which accounted for more than half of CCSU's attack errors.
Dunlap also led the CCSU defense with four blocks on the day. Junior Makenna Lommori was also solid at the net with two block assists and a solo block.
Lommori finished with 15 assists and shared a team-high eight digs with classmate Ashley Lenington.
The Blue Devils will enter the final weekend of the regular season tied with Bryant for fourth place in the NEC standings. Fairleigh Dickinson and Sacred Heart are also currently tied and sit just one game out of the fourth place tie. CCSU travels to FDU on Saturday and to SHU on Sunday, while Bryant plays at SHU Saturday and at FDU Sunday.
