Dunlap Earns Molten/NEC Volleyball Weekly Award

Senior Rachel Dunlap was named Molten/NEC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.

Central Connecticut senior middle blocker Rachel Dunlap was named Molten/Northeast Conference Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon. Dunlap was the NEC's top blocker last season and started this year right where she finished 2013.

Dunlap posted a perfect effort at the net with 15 blocks over CCSU's three matches to open the 2014 season. She anchored the Blue Devil defense with three solo blocks and 12 block assists.

The junior posted three blocks against Indiana, eight against UConn and four against New Hampshire.

Her first solo block came against UConn and she followed it with two more against the Wildcats.

The Blue Devils will return to action on Friday at the Harvard Invitational.
