Women's Golf Begins Spring Season
The CCSU women's golf team will kick-off their spring campaign at Valparaiso.
The Central Connecticut women's golf team will open up their spring schedule today at the Valporaiso Crusader Invitational. The tournament is the first scheduled event for the Blue Devils in the spring 2013 season.
The two-day tournament will begin on Monday, March 4th and conclude on Tuesday, March 5th. Champions Gate Golf Course in Orlando, FL will be the host site for the tournament hosted by Valparaiso. The par-72 course will play 7,128 yards.
In the fall, the Blue Devils averaged a team score of 321.8 over six rounds. Their highest team finish came at the St. John's Invitational where Central placed third overall. Senior Anna Ausanio lead the helm leading the team in scoring average with a 79.1 and two top-ten finishes.
At last year's Northeast Conference Tournament, the Blue Devils finished seventh overall, a two place improvement from 2011 where they finished ninth. Central shot a team score of 971 at the 2012 NEC's, the lowest score in school history since a third round was added to the tournament in 2007.
