Softball Show Recaps 17-Game Stretch
The fifth edition of the Central Connecticut Softball Show Recaps the last two weeks of action.
Head coach Jeff Franquet sits down with CCSUBlueDevils.com for the fifth edition of the Central Connecticut Softball Show. Franquet and the Blue Devils have spent most of the last two weeks on the road playing 14 of 17 games away from home.
Over the last 17 games, the Blue Devils have posted a 12-5 record. Central finished 3-1 at the Hampton Tournament and then swept a four game series from Norfolk State before splitting a doubleheader at Coppin State. A doubleheader loss to Fairleigh Dickinson split up a single game victory over Holy Cross and a doubleheader sweep of Fairfield at home.
During that period, freshman Laura Messina pitched 12 times, including nine starts, and earned nine victories. Five of her nine complete games were shutouts.
The Blue Devils host a pair of Northeast Conference doubleheaders this weekend. LIU Brooklyn visits on Saturday and the Blue Devils host Mount St. Mary's on Sunday.
