Faculty and Staff Face Softball Team
Director of Athletics Paul Schlickmann captured the men's home run derby title.
The Central Connecticut Softball team squared-off against a team of faculty and staff on Friday afternoon. The day's events also featured a home run derby for the faculty and staff.
The faculty/staff won the game 17-0, but the real highlight of the day was the home run derby. Assistant women's basketball coach Liz Stich captured the women's home run derby title and CCSU Director of Athletics Paul Schlickmann was the men's champion.
Both champions were presented with a softball autographed by the current Blue Devil players. "We appreciate the support out here today and are honored to present our homerun derby champions with autographed softballs." Coach Jeff Franquet added, "Paul was dropping bombs today."
In attendance were Paul Schlickmann, Craig Hanson, Brian Moore, Glenn Senecal, Jerry Jarrett, Larry Grasso, Scott Hazan, Bill Disch, Jason Sikorski, Paul Resetarits and Liz Stich.
"I want to personally thank the eleven faculty and staff members who joined us. I know our team looks forward to this game every year," Franquet said. "We appreciate all the support we get from the CCSU community. "We are looking forward to having a great season in the spring and we hope to see you at the games."
