Men's Golf in Ninth Place at Mission Inn Spring Fling in Florida
The Central Connecticut men's golf team has started its spring season with a trip to Howey-in-Hills, Florida, to play in the Mission Inn Spring Fling beginning on Friday. The Blue Devils are in ninth place overall after the first day of the 13-team tournament. Central shot a team score of 315 (+27) on the par-72 Las Colinas course.

DAY ONE TEAM RESULTS
Sophomore Dan
Fanion paced the Blue Devils and is tied for 16th place after
shooting a 76 (+4) in Friday's first round. Junior Kevin
Josephson (78, +6) is tied for 28th place, following by senior
Eric
Hawerchuk (80, +8), freshman Dan Morgan (81, +8) and senior Justin
Hughes (83, +11).
Stetson University leads the tournament after a team score of 297
on the first day. Laval University (298), Appalachian State (300),
Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne (300) and Western Kentucky (301) round
out the top five.
Lehigh (309), St. Leo (311) and Boston College (312) lead Central.
Morehead State (317), Bethune Cookman (319) St. Thomas Aquinas
(321) and Adelphi (339) round out the scoring.
The tournament will have two more round on Saturday and Sunday.
The Blue Devils are playing their first tournament of the spring
season, after a tremendously successful fall.
