Men's Golf in Seventh After Day One of the Connecticut Cup
The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished day one of the Connecticut Cup in seventh place. Dan Fanion is tied for 11th to lead the Blue Devils after two rounds. The match is being hosted by the University of Connecticut at Ellington Ridge Country Club.
The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished day one of the Connecticut Cup in seventh place. Sophomore Dan Fanion is tied for 11th to lead the Blue Devils after two rounds. The match is being hosted by the University of Connecticut at Ellington Ridge Country Club.
The Blue Devils shot a 611 on the first day of the event. After a first round 312, Central battled back with 299 strokes in the second round of the day. Fanion shot a 78 in the first round and then followed it with a 71 in the second to tie for 11th with a 149 for the day. The second Blue Devil was freshman Daniel Morgan who shot a 152 for the day, with rounds of 79 and 73 to tie for 21st.
Junior Greg Beloin is tied for 23rd after shooting a 153 on the day, and junior Kevin Josephson is tied for 37th after a 157. Senior Justin Hughes and sophomore Ashley Crawford both shot 164's today to tie for 56th. Crawford is playing as an individual this weekend and does not count for the Blue Devils team score.
The Connecticut Cup will conclude with 18 holes tomorrow, please check back for final results tomorrow night.
