The Central Connecticut football team will host its annual Blue-White Scrimmage on Friday night at Arute Field.
The Central Connecticut football team will host its annual Blue-White Scrimmage on Friday, April 19th at Arute Field. The "spring game" is an annual event that marks the ceremonial ending of the Blue Devils' spring practice season. This year's edition will be held at night with kick-off scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game concluding by 9 p.m.
The spring game festivities will begin following the CCSU women's lacrosse game.
Throughout the game fans will be treated to on field interviews with players and head coach Jeff McInerney and his staff will present 12 awards, with each representing a former CCSU head football coach. The awards are presented to players that during spring practice have embodied a specific characteristic that is associated with each of the former coaches.
The game will be played on Arute Field, the home of CCSU football for more than 50 years, and will give fans the opportunity to see many of the Blue Devils that will be contributing during the 2013 season.
Watch sophomore Rob Hollomon, junior Nick Bacarella and junior Antwione Reese discuss spring practice and the Blue-White Scrimmage for a special video feature on NECFrontRow.com.
Prior to the Blue-White Scrimmage fans can attend the CCSU women's lacrosse team's contest with NEC foe Mount St. Mary's. That game is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Arute Field and features the first place Blue Devils putting their 7-0 conference mark on the line against the third place Mountaineers. Fans can also enjoy CCSU women's soccer on Friday night. Head coach Mick D'Arcy's squad will be in action on the CCSU Soccer Field at 7 p.m.
Admission to all of CCSU's athletic events on Friday is free.
