Julbes Earns Second Team All-NEC
Football senior Anthony Julbes was named Second Team All-NEC on Wednesday.
Central Connecticut football tight end Anthony Julbes has been named Second Team All-Northeast Conference following a senior season in which he caught three touchdown passes.
Julbes played in nine games for the Blue Devils as the starting tight end. He caught seven passes on the season and turned three of them into touchdowns. He caught one pass against Stony Brook in the season opener and then pulled in a 17 yard touchdown in the September 22, game against Wagner.
A week later, he caught two passes for 22 yards against Sacred Heart.
Against Robert Morris, Julbes grabbed a six yard touchdown pass in the Blue Devils' exciting comeback attempt.
His final touchdown of the season came against Saint Francis (PA) on October 27. That day Julbes caught a pass and then broke to the outside and up the sideline for a 73-yard touchdown. The longest play of his career.
Julbes had his final career catch on November 10, against Bryant, on senior day at Arute Field. He had a 21-yard reception, which helped keep a CCSU drive moving.
For the season, he averaged 20.7 yards per catch.
