Women's XC 6th at NECs, McBride All-Conference
Junior Shannon McBride finished 12th overall with her time of 20:05, earning All-NEC honors.
The Central Connecticut women's cross country team finished sixth at the 2013 Northeast Conference Championships on Saturday in Loretto, PA. For the sixth-straight time this season, junior Shannon McBride paced the Blue Devils, finishing 12th overall and earning All-Conference honors with her time of 20:05.
McBride finished the 5K race just over two minutes behind the lead runner, Bryant's Eimear Black (17:46), and was followed by sophomore Jazmin Booker who placed 25th with her time of 21:03. Sophomore Ally Gates was the third Blue Devil to cross the finish line, clocking a time of 21:08, good for 28th.
Sophomores Brandy LeClair (21:10) and Caylee Richardson (21:23) rounded out the team scoring for CCSU, placing 31st and 37th, respectively.
Also competing in the race for the Blue Devils were freshman Alexis Conte (22:30, 55th), junior Taylor LePage (22:47, 62nd), freshman Paxton McNierney (22:51, 63rd) and sophomore Trisha Quinn (23:57, 68th).
Sacred Heart claimed the NEC title with a score of 44, followed by Bryant in second with 53. Mount St. Mary's was third with 104, and Robert Morris (108) and Saint Francis U (128) rounded out the top five. CCSU totaled 133 and finished ahead of Wagner (160), Fairleigh Dickinson (187) and St. Francis Brooklyn (218).
