Volleyball Opens Weekend with 3-1 Win Over Stonehill
The Central Connecticut volleyball team opened the weekend with a 3-1 win over Stonehill on Friday night in Northeast Conference action at Detrick Gymnasium. Lauren Milani and Olivia Keckler had 15 and 13 kills, respectively, as the Blue Devils had their best hitting percentage of the season.
The Blue Devils host Stonehill on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. for Senior Day.

KEY MOMENTS
- Larissa Hiemer opened the match with consecutive aces and Central led 3-0 to open the first set. Stonehill would climb back within, 12-11, before a kill by Keckler opened a spurt that was capped by a kill from Weronika Poczynek to make it 15-12. Stonehill would even the score at 16-all, but CCSU never trailed and scored three straight to close the set on a kill by Kaylin Hadley.
- CCSU would charge out to a 4-1 win to start the second set and pushed the lead to 12-7 forcing a Skyhawks timeout. An ace by Annabelle Denomme capped a run of four straight points and pushed the lead to 19-9. Stonehill would cut the deficit to 21-15, but Central would outscore the Skyhawks 3-1 to win the set and go up 2-0.
- Central would lead in the third set, building a 11-8 edge after a kill by Amanda Tokam. CCSU continued to lead, 20-16, following back-to-back kills by Tokam, but Stonehill would close within 22-21 to force a Blue Devils timeout. The Skyhawks would fend off match point before eventually winning the set 27-25.
- In the fourth frame, kills by Lauren Milani and Tokam would put central up, 9-4. The margin expanded to 14-8 following an ace by Hiemer before Stonehill took a timeout and would close back within, 21-19. A kill by Keckler would spark the Blue Devils down the stretch with a 3-1 run to close the match, which included a block by Isabella Bratzke and Milani.

- Milani added seven digs, three blocks and an assist.
- Keckler hit .367 to match her career-best kills total.
- Hiemer posted a double-double with 19 assists and 10 digs, to go with three aces.
- Defensively, Bratzke had a team-high five blocks, while Denomme had a match-high 14 digs.
- Central leads the all-time series, 3-2.
