Volleyball Slips Against Le Moyne Friday
The Central Connecticut volleyball team fell to Le Moyne, 3-1, in Northeast Conference action on Friday at Detrick Gymnasium. Lauren Milani posted a double-double with 13 kills and 10 digs for CCSU.
The Blue Devils and Dolphis play at 4 p.m. on Saturday.

KEY MOMENTS
- The Blue Devils and Dolphins were locked in a close opening set, with neither side leading by more than three points when Central led 10-7 following a kill by Olivia Keckler. CCSU trailed, 18-16, after Le Moyne scored three straight points. A kill by Milani would spark a run of four straight points for Central. A kill by Weronika Poczynek put CCSU ahead, 23-20, and Central would go on to win the set on a kill by Kaylin Hadley.
- A kill by Milani gave CCSU a 9-6 lead in the second set, but Le Moyne would swing the momentum in its favor and went ahead 19-16 following an ace. CCSU would get within, 22-20, after a kill by Keckler, but the Dolphins closed the set with a kill and a block to even the set.
- CCSU led by as much as 12-7 in the third set and would lead 20-18 after a run of five straight points. The Dolphins took a timeout and would close the set on a 7-1 run to take a 2-1 lead in the match.
- Le Moyne built a 5-1 margin to open the fourth set and would push its lead to 13-4 before a CCSU timeout. Central would regroup and charge back to within a point. Larissa Hiemer served seven straight points, including an ace to make it 13-12. After a kill by Keckler made it 14-14, CCSU was unable to score back-to-back points the rest of the way and Le Moyne would close out the match.
