Women's Track and Field Competes at UMass Flagship Opener
The Central Connecticut women's track and field team competed in the UMass Flagship Opener in Amherst on Sunday.
The Central Connecticut women's track and field team competed in the UMass Flagship Opener in Amherst on Sunday. The Blue Devils tallied 19 points and placed ninth out of twelve teams.
Track:
- Nuchwara Inthasit placed eighth in the 100m with a time of 12.55.
- First-year, Taina DeJesus took fifth in the 400mH posting a time of 1:06.09.
- Rachel Bartolucci ran the 800m in 2:18.06 and placed eighth for her team.
- Alyssa Carusone took 10th in the 5000m run with a time of 20:32.09.
- The 4x400 relay team consisting of Tamara Rawles, Nuchwara Inthasit, Taina DeJesus, and Rachel Bartolucci placed fifth with a time of 4:07.45.
Field:
- Alissa Hurd took second place in the high jump for The Blue Devils with a 1.59m jump.
- Aaliyah Walker placed sixth in the triple jump with an 11.31m mark.
- Wenesha Stewart took fourth place (39.25m) in the discus and sixth in the shot put with a 12.9m throw.
- Marina Perry placed 10th (37.22m) in the discus with a 37.22m mark. The sophomore (45.97m) also placed ninth in the hammer throw.
