The Blue Devils earn the team award for the 40th time in the last 43 semesters.
The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team has been awarded the 2013 CSCAA DI Fall Scholar All-America Team honor, the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) announced recently. The award marks the 40th time the Blue Devils have earned the award in the last 43 semesters.
The Blue Devils posted a team grade point average of 3.11 this fall to earn the award among four other NEC squads. Additional NEC teams to make the list include Wagner, Saint Francis U, Mount St. Mary's and Sacred Heart.
CCSU tied Brigham Young, Marist College and Princeton on the list.
The Team Scholar All-America award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams who have achieved a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. The award is presented twice annually, once in the fall semester/term and in the semester/term of the NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships (Winter/Spring).
The Blue Devils completed the 2013-14 season on February 22 at the 2014 NEC Swimming and Diving Championships where they claimed third out of seven teams.
