Women's Soccer Plays to 0-0 Draw with Sacred Heart; Qualifies for NEC Tournament
The Central Connecticut women's soccer team played to a 0-0 double overtime draw against Sacred Heart on Sunday. The draw gives the Blue Devils a league record of 5-3-2, and they will be the fourth seed in next week's Northeast Conference Tournament. They will face #1 seed Long Island, the tournament will be played at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Central is now 9-8-2 overall on the season.

double overtime draw against Sacred Heart on Sunday. The draw

The Pioneers held a 3-2 advantage in shots in the first half, but
the Blue Devils held a 1-0 edge in shots on goal. Sacred Heart
keeper Sydney Juskins had one save before halftime.
Central ended the game with a 13-8 advantage in shots on goal,
including a 11-5 edge following halftime. They had the only two
shots of the overtime periods.
Freshman goalkeeper Nikola
Deiter made four saves in net for the Blue Devils, all of them
coming in the second half.
Juskins had five saves in the match for SHU.
With the tie the Blue Devils will advance to the NEC Tournament as
the fourth seed, and play Long Island in the semifinals. Central
dropped a 1-0 decision to the Blackbirds during the regular season
on the road.
The Blue Devils are advancing to the tournament for the ninth
straight year, the longest active streak in the league.
The Blue Devils honored their six seniors prior to the match.
