Women's Soccer Earns Northeast Conference Victory With 2-1 Overtime Win Over Mount St. Mary's
The Central Connecticut women's soccer team earned its first Northeast Conference win of the season on Friday afternoon. Central defeated Mount St. Mary's 2-1 in overtime on the first goal of the season for junior Brittany Jackson. Freshman Kerriann Welch scored her third goal of the season in the win.

With the win the Blue Devils move to 5-7-1 overall and 1-2-1 in NEC
action. The Mount falls to 3-7-3 overall and 0-3-1 in the
league.
The Blue Devils return to action on Sunday at 3 p.m. hosting
Monmouth on Arute Field.
Central got on the board first just 13:20 into the first half. Off a deflection from teammate and fellow freshman Allison Kelley, Welch scored her third goal of the season to give the Blue Devils the 1-0 lead.
Central led 1-0 at the half, and held a 6-3 advantage in shots.

Deiter made a pair of saves before halftime and the Blue Devils
added a team save. Each team had three shots on goal.
The Blue Devils had a pair of chances to begin the second half.
Jackson had a one-on-one opportunity with Mount goalkeeper Alicia
Miller but her shot hit the cross bar and the score remained
1-0.
The Mount tied the game at 1-1 at 87:22 when Sadie Winship scored
her first goal of the season. She took a shot outside the box and
beat Deiter to the lower left of the goal for the equalizer.
Jackson's game-winner came with 1:44 remaining in the first
overtime. It was her first goal of the season and the second
assist of the game for Kelley.
Deiter finished with four saves in goal for the Blue Devils in
earning the victory.
The Blue Devil homestand continues on Sunday as Monmouth comes to New Britain for a 3 p.m. kickoff.
