Central Boasts 10 All-NEC First Teamers
The NEC released it's 2012 Indoor All-Conference selections on Monday.
The Northeast Conference released it's 2012 Indoor Track & Field All-Conference selections on Monday, March 12th. Central featured three first team selections, three second team selections, and four All-Rookie team selections.
Junior sprinter Aaron Radden, junior distance runner Colby Delbene, and the DMR team comprised of (Delbene), senior Robert Weston, freshman Joey Farrington, and freshman Patrick Hubbell were all recognized as first team honorees. Radden's 200m time of 21.74 earned the him top spot in the NEC. Delbene's 4:13.08 performance in the one mile stamped him as the 2012 NEC one mile individual champion. Central's DMR team clocked in a 10:08.25 time sealing their spot on the conference's first team.
All-Conference second team honors went to senior Sam Alexander and Radden. Alexander collected a pair of second team accolades in the 3,000m (8:24.95) and 5,000m (14:51.23). Radden's 60m (6.93) performance earned him second team honors in the event.
The Blue Devils posted four NEC All-Rookie team selections, the second most of any team in the conference behind NEC Champion Monmouth (5). Freshman middle distance runners Joey Farrington and Patrick Hubbell earned All-Rookie team recognition in the 500m (1:07.07) and 800m (1:58.08) events respectively. Freshman Jordan Watkins 60m hurdles time of 8.51 secured his place on the NEC All-Rookie team. In the field, Michael Ficorilli threw the shot 14.34m.
