Brown Named Stats FCS Second Team All American
Junior helped anchor one of the top offensive lines in the nation this season
Junior guard J'Von Brown was named a Second Team Stats All-American on Tuesday. Brown, who earned All-Conference, All-ECAC and All-New England honors following the 2018 season, is the second offensive lineman to earn All-America status in the last two seasons. Linemate Connor Mignone, a sophomore this season, was a freshman All-American selection a year ago and also earned All-Conference and All-ECAC honors this season.
Brown helped anchor and offensive line that allowed the Blue devils to post 289.3 rushing yards per game in six conference games. They had 2,460 total rushing yards on the season and posted the nation's 21st best rushing attack at 223.6 yards per game on the ground. They also allowed just 0.73 sacks per game on the year, the seventh best total in the entire country. They allowed just eight sacks in 11 games. The Blue Devils led the country allowing just 32 tackles for a loss in the entire season.
Central finished the season 6-5 overall and 4-2 in Northeast Conference play, good for a third place finish after winning the NEC title a season ago. The Blue Devils finished 20th in the nation in points per game (33.8) and led the league in that category.
