2019 Schedule Announced, Football Ends Spring Season With Scrimmage This Saturday
Blue Devils will open the 2019 seasons on the road at Fordham on August 31
The Central Connecticut football spring season will end this weekend with the annual Blue-White Spring Scrimmage beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, on Arute Field. The Blue Devils are coming off a 6-5 season in 2018 and a 4-2 mark in the Northeast Conference. Saturday's game is open to the public and admission is free. The game will feature 60 total plays. The Blue Devils will not be split up into separate teams as in years past, it will feature the offense vs. the defense only. A modified scoring system will be used.
Following an individual session beginning at 10 a.m., the scrimmage will begin and should end by 11:45 a.m.
The 2019 edition of the Blue Devils open the season on the road at Fordham on August 31. They play their first home game of the season on Sept. 7 vs. future NEC-member Merrimack. Central will then travel to Valparaiso (Sept. 14) and Eastern Michigan (Sept. 21) before a bye week on Sept. 28.
NEC play opens for the Blue Devils on Oct. 5 at Sacred Heart followed by the last non-conference game of the season at Columbia on Oct. 12.
Central is home vs. Bryant on Oct. 19 for Homecoming, following by a home game vs. new NEC-football member LIU on Oct. 26. They then travel to Wagner on Nov. 2.
Central will play two of its final three games of the season at home, beginning with St. Francis U (Nov. 9) and Robert Morris (Nov. 16) and then on the road at Duquesne (Nov. 23) to finish the regular season.
Time for all games will be released in the coming months.
