Brawner Leads CCSU at Princeton
Brawner snagged two personal records and finished as the 1,500 meter runner-up on Saturday.
The Central Connecticut women's track and field team closed out at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton University on Saturday at Weaver Stadium.
Freshman Angie Rafter ran a personal best time of 2:13.77 in the 800 meter run to place fourth overall for CCSU. Sophomore Megan Brawner also snagged a personal record in the event, recording a time of 2:15.54 to finish in eighth place. Both Rafter and Brawner finished first in their sections.
Brawner continued her success in the 1,500 meter run with her second personal record of the day with a time of 4:36.51. The sophomore finished as the runner-up just behind St. Joseph's Emily Bracken.
Junior Sierra Nesmith finished in ninth place in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.35.
Senior Melissa Wolliston ran time of 14.75 seconds in the 100 meter hurdle preliminary round, but did not qualify for the finals. Wolliston also placed 18th in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:04.53.
Sophomore Erica Snape placed 26th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.62 seconds.
The CCSU 4x400 meter relay team placed 10th with a time of 3:58.70.
Junior McKenna Kilian jumped 5.19 meters in the long jump to placed 20th overall.
The Central Connecticut track and field teams will host the annual CCSU Blue Devil Invite on next Saturday, April 28. More meet information will be released later in the week.
