Ausanio and CCSU Both Finish Day One at NEC Championships in Fourth Place
Freshman Anna Ausanio led the way on Friday as the Central Connecticut women's golf team finished first round action at the Northeast Conference Championships in fourth place out of 10 teams. Ausanio is currently in fourth place on the leader board after shooting 78 on the par 72 Champions Gate Golf Course in Orlando, FL.

CCSU shot 332 as a team on Friday. The Blue Devils are two strokes back of third place Fairleigh Dickinson and four back of second place Sacred Heart. Long Island leads the three day tournament with a first round score of 318. The Blackbirds' Natalie Desjardins and Andrea Staudacher lead the individual leaderboard, each carding 76 on the day.
Each of the three other scoring CCSU players shot 86 or under on Friday. Junior Chelsea Woods is currently tied for 14th place after finishing in 83 during first round action. Senior Natalie Jones and freshman Stephanie Bednar are within one stroke of each other as the Blue Devils' third and fourth top scorers on the day. Jones shot 85 and is tied for 18th, while Bednar finished in 86 and is currently tied for 21st in the tournament.
Central Connecticut and the other nine teams in competition will finish the tournament on Saturday and Sunday to determine this year's Northeast Conference Champion.
