Women's Golf Finishes Competition at Hartford Invitational
Central Connecticut State University finished competition at the University of Hartford Invitational in ninth place on Sunday. Freshman Stephanie Bednar led the Blue Devils on the weekend, as she tied for 24th with a 36 hole score of 166 at the Rockledge Golf Course in West Hartford, CT.

CCSU shot 12 strokes better in second round action (334) to finish with a total score of 680, defeating Boston University and Northeast Conference foe Wagner College. Rutgers improved on its first round score of 310 with a 308 on Sunday to win the tournament, recording a total of 618. The Scarlet Knights' Brittany Weddell won individual medalist honors, carding rounds of 74 and 76.
Bednar's total of 166 led Central on the tournament, but her 82 was the second best score by a Blue Devil on Sunday. Fellow freshman Anna Ausanio shot 81 during second round action to finish with a total of 168 to tie for 31st on the weekend.
Senior Natalie Jones, junior Chelsea Woods and freshman Katie Reid all finished the final round of competition under 90. Jones tied for 37th with a score of 170 (86-84). Woods recorded a total score of 176 (89-87) to place 49th in the tournament, while Reid tied for 58th with a total of 186 (97-89).
The Blue Devils will next host the Central Shootout on April 17 and 18. The tournament will take place at the Wethersfield Country Club in Wethersfield, CT.
