Ausanio Leads Central In First Day of Hawk Invite
Freshman Anna Ausanio is tied for the individual lead after one round in the Hawk Spring Invitational at Monmouth University. Ausanio recorded a score of 78 as Central Connecticut State University finished day one in third place out of eight teams in competition in West Long Branch, NJ. The freshman shot 41 on the front nine before coming back with a 37 on the back to lead the Blue Devils.

CCSU trails only Fairleigh Dickinson and the host Hawks, who recorded team scores of 322 and 333, respectively. Ausanio is tied for the individual lead with Long Island's Andrea Staudacher.
Freshman Stephanie Bednar matched Ausanio's 37 on the back nine after totaling 45 on the first nine holes. She finished day one in a tie for 10th place with a score of 82. Senior Natalie Jones and freshman Katie Reid finished within one stroke of each other, at 89 and 90, to tie for 18th and 20th, respectively.
Junior Chelsea Woods rounded out the Central golfers, tying for 27th after the first 18 holes with a score of 97. Central Connecticut and the rest of the teams will finish competition in the Hawk Spring Invitational on Sunday.
