Blue Devils Drop First Meeting with Wagner
Central turned the ball over a season high 26 times in the loss.
The Blue Devils dropped the first of two games to Wagner on Sunday night. Central has now lost its last two games against Wagner and last three overall. With the loss, CCSU falls to 4-11 overall and in NEC play. The Seahawks get a much needed win and improve to 9-5 overall and 9-4 in conference play.
Freshman Belle Lanpher tied a career high 15 points on 6-13 shooting. Dejah Jenkins also scored in double figures with 12 points.
The Blue Devils went a solid 7-20 (35.0%) from beyond the arc. However, the team committed 26 turnovers, leading to 24 points for Wagner.
Emilija Krista Grava led all scorers with 21 points. She went 8-14 from the floor and grabbed 6 rebounds. Laniya Miller was the next highest scorer for Wagner with 9 points, including 6-6 from the free throw line.
