Blue Devils Lose Their Second In a Row
CCSU fell by a score of 95-61 on Sunday afternoon.
The Central Connecticut women's basketball lost its second game in a row to Mount St. Mary's by a score of 95-61..The Blue Devils now stand at 2-4 on the season and in Northeast Conference play. The Mount stays in the top four of the NEC with a record of 5-1.
Forever Toppin tied her season high with 16 points on the afternoon, shooting 3-6 from three. Danielle Delano scored in double figures with 10 points. It marked the first time she scored this season.
Turnovers once again haunted the Blue Devils, as the team committed a new season high 23. CCSU shot 20-53 from the floor (34.5%), but shot a respectable 10-23 (43.5) from beyond the arc. The Blue Devils were once again outrebounded 40-30 in the game.
The Mount got a stellar performance from redshirt senior Kendall Bresee, who scored a game high 26 points. She also added 15 rebounds and 5 assists. Michaela Harrison backed up her performance from yesterday by scoring 20 points on 7-11 shooting.
The Blue Devils were outscored by a combined 63 points on the weekend.

The Mount picked up right where they left off, scoring the game's first 14 points. Emma McCamus finally ended the run with a jump shot off an inbounds play with 5:59 in the first quarter.

Angelique Rodriguez continued her career weekend by hitting a big three with 1:10 remaining in the first quarter to cut the lead to 10. Forever Toppin made a big steal and dished it off to Claire Sutherland-Case as time expired in the first. The Mount led 23-15.

The second quarter started similarly for the Blue Devils as the first. Mount St. Mary's went on a 18-2 run in the first four minutes to give the team a 41-17 lead. Forever Toppin was able to end the run with a three pointer from the top of the key.

The Blue Devils were not able to defend the three point shot, as the Mountaineers went a perfect 5-5 from beyond the arc in the second quarter. The Mount scored 27 points in the quarter and led 50-30 at the half.

Forever Toppin got it going in the third quarter, scoring 8 points for the Blue Devils. She hit a tough contested three pointer from the corner with 5:05 remaining.

CCSU opened up the final quarter on back to back buckets from Carly Reynolds and Ashley Forker. However, the Mount continued their offensive dominance, scoring 22 points in the final quarter and 95 for the game.
