Softball Faces Quinnipiac For Home-Opener Thursday
First pitch is slated for 3:00 p.m. in New Britain, CT.
The Central Connecticut softball team will welcome the Quinnipiac Bobcats to CCSU Softball Field in New Britain, CT for its home-opener on Thursday. First pitch is slated for 3:00 p.m. The Blue Devils enter Thursday's contest at 6-12 on the season, last defeating Seton Hall in South Orange, NJ 6-1. The Bobcats are 8-13 and are also coming off of a victory over Saint Joseph's University 4-1 in Clearwater, FL at the USF Michele Smith Tournament.

With a win over the Nutmeg state opponent, Central Connecticut fifth-year head coach Breanne Gleason will eclipse the 100th career win milestone. Gleason currently holds a 99-92-1 (.516) record at the helm of the Blue Devils.
The match marks the 27th all-time meeting between the two schools, with QU holding a 24-12 advantage in the overall series. CCSU and Quinnipiac last met back on April 30, 2015 in Hamden, CT that resulted in a Bobcat 2-1 win.
CCSU will host a pair of non-conference doubleheaders this weekend on Saturday and Sunday. The Blue Devils will first see Manhattan on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. and then Iona on Sunday, also at 12:00 p.m. at 2:00 p.m.
