Softball Slowed At Albany on Wednesday
CCSU will host SHU on Friday for its NEC-opener starting at 1:00 p.m.
The Central Connecticut softball team dropped a pair of contests at Albany on Wednesday afternoon. The Blue Devils fell 4-2 in the first game and 7-4 in the second game at Albany Field. Central falls to 9-16 on the season and Albany advances to 12-7.

GAME ONE
Central Connecticut's lone two runs came off a pair of back-to-back solo-homeruns from seniors Lex Debrosse and Brittany McNulla. CCSU played from behind the entire game after Albany hit a three-run homer in its first stanza at the plate.
Leading CCSU by just one run, 3-2, the Great Danes would tally their fourth run of the game on a RBI-single in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Senior Emily Sargent went 6.0 innings in the circle for Central and struck out five Great Danes for the game. Sargent falls to 6-6 on the season.
GAME TWO
The Great Danes broke out a four-run lead in their first at bat off on four hits off CCSU's starting pitcher, freshman Ashley Antonazzo.
A successful third inning would bring the Blue Devils to within 4-3 of UALB.
In the stretch, rookie Sydney Bolan struck a single to left field with the bases loaded that scored junior Kaitlin Paterson and senior Tori Constantin. Senior Brittany Camara also had a sacrifice fly to left field that scored sophomore Sarah Ogilvie.
Central tied the score at 4-4 in the top of the fifth inning after McNulla singled through the right side to score Camara.
However, Albany would seal the victory with by adding on three runs in the bottom of the fifth on four singles.
Antonazzo moves to 2-4 on the season after pitching all six innings for CCSU. Bolan led the way for the Blue Devils going 2-for-4 with two RBI. Central was out-hit 9-5 in the match.
