Morgan Named NEC Men's Golf Rookie of the Year, Josephson Named to Second Team

Central Connecticut freshman Daniel Morgan was named the Northeast Conference Men's Golf Rookie of the Year on Thursday afternoon. His teammate, junior Kevin Josephson earned a spot on the All-NEC Second Team. Both golfers played every round for the Blue Devils this season and contributed to Central's New England Championship.

Junior Kevin Josephson Named to All-New England Division I First Team

Central Connecticut junior golfer Kevin Josephson has been named to the All-New England First Team on Monday. Josephson earns the honor after a great 2010-11 year in which he posted five top-10 finishes and captured a pair of individual titles.

Men's Golf Finishes Fourth at NEC Championship

The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished fourth at the Northeast Conference Championship with a team score of 915 strokes. The Blue Devils improved in each round of the tournament by shooting a 304 on Sunday. Senior Eric Hawerchuck was the top Blue Devil finisher on the 6,937 yard, par-72 Champions Gate Golf Course in Orlando, Florida. Hawerchuk improved every round and finished with a team-best round of 69 on Sunday to tie for 10th.

Men's Golf Improves Score, but Falls to Seventh in the Team Standings

The Central Connecticut men's golf team improved their team score by one stroke to 305 for the second round of the Northeast Conference Championship. The CCSU squad shot a 306 during round one of the 54 hole event. The Blue Devils 611 stroke performance drops them to seventh in the team standings. The NEC Championships are being played on the 6,937 yard, par-72 Champions Gate Golf Course in Orlando, Florida.

Men's Golf Tied for Fifth After Day One of NEC Championships

The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished day one of the 2011 Northeast Conference Golf Championships in a three way tie for fifth place. The Blue Devils posted a team score of 306 strokes tying with St. Francis (PA) and Long Island. Pacing the Central team was senior Justin Hughes who shot an opening round 75 on the 6,937 yard, par-72 Champions Gate Golf Course in Orlando, Florida.

Men's Golf Tied for Third at New England Division I Championships

Kevin Josephson and Eric Hawerchuk each shot a day-one 74 and are tied for fifth place as the Central Connecticut men's golf team is tied for third after round one of the New England Division I Championships on Saturday. The tournament is being plated at the Newport National Country Club in Middletown, RI.

Men's Golf Wins New England Division I Golf Championship

The Central Connecticut men's golf team shot an incredible day two score of 289 and claimed the New England Division I Men's Golf Championships on Sunday. The tournament was played at the Newport National Country Club in Middletown, RI. The course is a par-72 and is 7,244 yards long. The Blue Devils had four golfers shoot 73 or better on the second day of the tournament to claim the title.

Men's Golf Finishes 13th at Wildcat Invitational

The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished 13th at the Villanova Wildcat Invitational. The Blue Devils totaled 622 strokes good for a final score of 54-over par. Central was led by sophomore Dan Fanion who posted 152 strokes for the two rounds. He finished tied for 32nd.

Men's Golf Tied for 14th After Round One of Wildcat Invitational

The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished their first round of play at the Wildcat Invitational, but several teams did not as the round was stopped because of darkness. The Blue Devils were tied for 14th when play was halted. Sophomore Dan Fanion was the Blue Devils top performer shooting a +3 in the first round. The Wildcat Invitational is being played on par-71 7,009 yard White Manor course in Plymouth Meeting, PA.

Hawerchuk Earns NEC Weekly Honor

Central Connecticut senior Eric Hawerchuk was named Northeast Conference Co-Golfer of the Week on Wednesday afternoon. Hawerchuk was one of three Blue Devils to tie for 20th at the C & F Bank Intercollegiate Invitational. Teammates Daniel Morgan and Justin Hughes also finished with 147 strokes to join Hawerchuk in 20th.

Men's Golf Tied for Sixth After Day One

The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished day one of the C & F Bank Intercollegiate Invitational in a three way tie for sixth place with a total of 294 strokes. The Blue Devils were led by freshman Daniel Morgan who is currently tied for fourth place. Morgan shot a two-under 70 on the 6,659 yard par-72 course. The event hosted by the College of William and Mary.

Blue Devils Finish Sixth at William and Mary

The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished sixth at the C & F Bank Intercollegiate Invitational hosted by the College of William and Mary. The Blue Devils finished with a team score of 589 strokes, just one behind Towson University for fifth place. Central was led by a trio of golfers who finished tied for 20th at the event.

Men's Golf Finishes 10th at Mission Inn Spring Fling

The Central Connecticut men's golf team has completed its first tournament of the Spring. The Blue Devils finished 10th at this weekend's Mission Inn Spring Fling in Howey-in-Hills, Florida. The Blue Devils posted their lowest score of the tournament on Sunday with a 305 stroke performance on Sunday. The team finished with a 62 over-par 926 for the three rounds.

Men's Golf in Ninth After Day Two at Mission Inn Spring Fling

The Central Connecticut men's golf team finished round two of the Mission Inn Spring Fling on Saturday. The Blue Devils finished the round in ninth place with a total score of 621 strokes. Central is one of 13 teams in the field this weekend on the par-72 Las Colinas course.

Men's Golf in Ninth Place at Mission Inn Spring Fling in Florida

The Central Connecticut men's golf team has started its spring season with a trip to Howey-in-Hills, Florida, to play in the Mission Inn Spring Fling beginning on Friday. The Blue Devils are in ninth place overall after the first day of the 13-team tournament. Central shot a team score of 315 (+27) on the par-72 Las Colinas course.

Men's Golf Selected as NEC Preseason Favorite

The Central Connecticut men's golf team was selected as the 2011 Northeast Conference Preseason favorite. The Blue Devils earned the top spot in a preseason poll of the leagues 10 coaches. Coach Kevin Giancola's squad finished fifth at last year NEC Championship, but a strong Fall season has the conference's coaches viewing the Blue Devils as the favorite.
