Swimming and Diving Receives Scholar All-America Team Honor
The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team has been honored as a Scholar All-America Team for the Fall Semester by the College Swimming Coaches Assocation of America. Coach Bill Ball's squad is one of only two Northeast Conference teams to receive the honor this season. The Blue Devils finished second at the NEC Championships last weekend.
The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team has been honored as a Scholar All-America Team for the Fall Semester by the College Swimming Coaches Assocation of America. The Blue Devil swimmers and divers earned a combined GPA of 3.09 for the Fall of 2010, finishing above the 3.0 mark that qualifies teams for the honor. St. Francis University was the only other NEC team to receive the CSCAA honor this semester. In all 89 schools received the distinction of being named CSCAA Scholar All-America Teams. Former NEC swimming member Gardner-Webb earned the distinction of posting the highest team GPA in Division I swimming with a 3.63 mark.
The Blue Devils will look to build on their runner-up finish at the NEC Championships this weekend when they travel to Pittsburgh, PA, for the ECAC Championships. As always results will be available on www.CCSUBlueDevils.com.
