Swimming and Diving Splits Tri-Meet with Miami and Florida International
The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team split with Miami and Florida International University on the road Saturday. The Blue Devils defeated FIU 142-121, but lost to Miami 167-98. The Blue Deivls were led by a pair sophomore Taylor Freidmann's two event victories.

Friedmann captured the 200 and 500 Free events, earning two of the Blue Devils three event victories on the day. Friedmann won the 200 in 1:55.49. She then went back in the pool to dominate the 500 Free event, her time of 1:49.56 was nearly 12 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.
The other Blue Devil event victory at the meet came from sophomore Katie Lang who won the 200 Butter Fly in 2:08.21.
Junior Alex Czaplicki finished second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:09.60. Sophomore Lauren O'Kelly's time of 10:31.73 earned her a second place finish in 1000 Free event.
On the diving board junior Madison Vestergaard finished fourth in the one-meter dive and third in the three-meter event. Vestergaard posted a score of 204.30 in the one-meter event and then scored 206.80 in the three-meter dive.
The Blue Devils return to action on January 29, when they host Wagner.
