The Blue Devils will head to Northeastern two weeks following the alumni meet. They will swim against the Huskies and Maine on Saturday, Oct. 17. CCSU then travels to Rutgers for the two-day Sonny Werblin Invitational on Friday, Oct. 23, and will be back in Piscataway, NJ for the College Conference Cut on Jan. 22-23.
"We will compete against MAAC Champion Rider, A-10 Champion Richmond, former America East Champion UMBC and Big 10 runner-up Minnesota at the College Conference Cut," Central Connecticut head coach Bill Ball said. "This meet, and additional dual meets against the ACC's University of Miami and recent America East powers, will only strengthen our ability to race top competition and assist us in trying to achieve our goals as a team."
The Blue Devils will travel to Southern Connecticut for a dual on Saturday, Oct. 31 after the Sonny Werblin Invitational. That precedes a home swim against Sacred Heart on Sunday, Nov. 1. CCSU will then face New Hampshire, 1999, 2005 and 2006 America East champs, and Boston University, the 2009 America East champions, on back-to-back Saturdays. A trip to New Hampshire is slated for Saturday, Nov. 7. The Blue Devils will then be in Boston on Nov. 14 for a dual meet and Nov. 20-22 for the Terrier Invitational. The USA Short Course Nationals on Dec. 3-5 will end the 2009 portion of the schedule.
CCSU will be back in action on Sunday, Jan. 10. The Blue Devils will host Vermont at 1 p.m. They then travel to Coral Gables, FL for a dual meet with the University of Miami on Saturday, Jan. 16. It will be the final tune-up prior to the College Conference Cut.
A dual meet at Wagner on Saturday, Jan. 30 is the last event prior to the Northeast Conference Championships. CCSU will look to go for three-in-a-row starting on Thursday, Feb. 11. The location for the meet has yet to be announced. The ECAC Championships, which Central Connecticut won in 2008, will be held at the University of Pittsburgh from Friday, Feb. 26 through Sunday, Feb. 28.
