Swimming and Diving Participates in Sonny Werblin Invite
The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team competed in the Sonny Werblin Invitational at the Rutgers University Aquatic Center on Friday and Saturday. The Blue Devils will next be hosting the Annual Alumni Pentathalon on Saturday October 18 before heading to the University of Maine to take on the host Black Bears and Northeastern in a three team meet.
The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team competed in the

Many CCSU swimmers came away from the Sonny Werblin Invite with top
10 finishes. Junior Erin
Crowley swam to two fifth places in the 50 and 200 freestyle,
with times of 24.85 and 1:58.07, respectively. Crowley also
finished sixth in the 500 free, timing in at 5:11.81. Freshman
Alex Czaplicki recorded three top ten finishes as well. She
finished seventh in the 200 IM, with a time of 2:12.39, eighth in
the 100 backstroke, with 1:01.25, and ninth in the 100 butterfly,
with 1:00.91. Freshman Kristen Malski came away from the weekend
with two finishes in the top six. She placed third in the 100
breaststroke with a time of
Two of the Central Relay Teams finished in fifth place at the
meet. The 200 free relay, made up of Crowley, Czaplicki, Alyssa
Carlucci and Megan
McGorry finished in 1:41.57. In the 200 medley relay, Crowley,
Czaplicki, McGorry and Malski recorded a time of 1:53.72.
