Pair of Blue Devils Named All-New England Following 2010 Season

Seniors Beth Lloyd and Abby Graham were each named to the NEWISA All-New England Second Team, it was recently announced. Both players were named to the All-Conference First Team following the 2010 season in which Central finished 9-9-2 overall and 5-3-2 in NEC action. Central qualified for the NEC Tournament for the ninth consecutive season, the longest active streak in the league.

Men's and Women's Soccer Receive Academic Honor from the NSCAA

The Central Connecticut men's and women's soccer teams have been honored with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Academic Award for the 2009-10 academic year. Central is one of 129 schools that had both their men's and women's team recognized. To be eligible for the award a team must obtain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Central Places Five on Northeast Conference Women's Soccer Postseason Teams

Five Central Connecticut women's soccer players earned postseason honors tonight, it was announced by the Northeast Conference. The players were given their postseason awards at the annual banquet on the eve of the 2010 NEC Tournament, which begins on Friday. Seniors Beth Lloyd and Abby Graham earned first team honors, while senior Clio Tregear and freshmen Allison Kelley and Jewel Robinson earned second team honors. Central play top seed Long Island tomorrow at noon in the semifinals of the tournament, being held at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Women's Soccer Season Ends With 1-0 Loss to Long Island in the Northeast Conference Tournament

Long Island scored under two minutes into the match as the Central Connecticut women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to top seed Long Island on Friday in the Northeast Conference Tournament semifinals. The match was played at Fairleigh Dickinson University. The loss ends the season for the Blue Devils, with an overall mark of 9-9-2.

Nikola Deiter Named adidas/Northeast Conference Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week

Freshman goalkeeper Nikola Deiter was named the adidas/Northeast Conference women's soccer Rookie of the Week on Monday. Deiter and the Blue Devils qualified for their ninth straight NEC Tournament on Sunday with a 0-0 double overtime draw against Sacred Heart. Central will face Long Island on Friday in the semifinals of the NEC Tournament.

Women's Soccer Plays to 0-0 Draw with Sacred Heart; Qualifies for NEC Tournament

The Central Connecticut women's soccer team played to a 0-0 double overtime draw against Sacred Heart on Sunday. The draw gives the Blue Devils a league record of 5-3-2, and they will be the fourth seed in next week's Northeast Conference Tournament. They will face #1 seed Long Island, the tournament will be played at Fairleigh Dickinson University. Central is now 9-8-2 overall on the season.

The Central Connecticut women's soccer team defeated Bryant 1-0 on Sunday afternoon. The Blue Devils are now 8-8-1 on the season and 4-3-1 in Northeast Conference action. The Blue Devils were led by Clio Tregear's first half goal.

The Central Connecticut women's soccer team had its three-game winning streak stopped with a 3-1 setback on the road at St. Francis (PA) on Sunday afternoon. The loss drops Central to 7-8-1 overall and 3-3-1 in Northeast Conference action. The Red Flash are now 10-4-1 overall and 4-2 in league action.

The Central Connecticut women's soccer team won its third straight game, topping Robert Morris 2-0 on the road on Friday afternoon. Seniors Beth Lloyd and Abby Graham each scored in the victory. Lloyd's goal was her league-leading 12th of the season. Central is now 7-7-1 overall and 3-2-1 in Northeast Conference action.

The Central Connecticut women's soccer team won its second straight home match, 2-0, over visiting Monmouth on Sunday afternoon on Arute Field. Freshman Jewel Robinson scored her first career goal and senior Beth Lloyd scored her 11th goal of the season in the victory. Central is now 6-7-1 overall and 2-2-1 in Northeast Conference play. Monmouth falls to 7-5-1 overall and 2-2-1 in the league.

Women's Soccer Earns Northeast Conference Victory With 2-1 Overtime Win Over Mount St. Mary's

The Central Connecticut women's soccer team earned its first Northeast Conference win of the season on Friday afternoon. Central defeated Mount St. Mary's 2-1 in overtime on the first goal of the season for junior Brittany Jackson. Freshman Kerriann Welch scored her third goal of the season in the win.

The Central Connecticut women's soccer team played to a 0-0 doubleovertime draw on Sunday afternoon at Wagner. With the tie Central is now 4-7-1 overall and 0-2-1 in Northeast Conference action. They return home on Friday to host Mount St. Mary's are 12 noon on Arute Field.

With the loss the Blue Devils are now 4-7 overall and 0-2 in NEC play. LIU in now 8-1-1 overall and 2-0 in the league. The play again on Sunday at Wagner.

Quinnipiac Tops Women's Soccer, 4-2, on Sunday Afternoon

The Central Connecticut women's soccer team dropped to 4-6 overall and 0-1 in Northeast Conference play with a 4-2 loss on the road at Quinnipiac on Sunday. Senior Beth Lloyd scored both goals in the game for the Blue Devils, and now leads the team with 10 goals on the season. It was her third multi-goal game of the season. Central returns to action on Friday night at 6 p.m. at Long Island.
