The Sandy Hook, CT native scored four goals and added two assists as CCSU set a school record for goals in a game during the 23-17 victory over St. Francis (PA). Vendel then tallied another four goals, this time adding three assists, in a heartbreaking 15-14 loss to Robert Morris on Sunday. She is third in the NEC in both assists and points per game, recording marks of 1.79 and 3.93 respectively.
In just her first season in New Britain, and with one game to go, Vendel has had the second best scoring season in CCSU history. She has totaled 30 goals and 25 assists, which passed Tracey Uellendahl's output of 54 points in 2002. Vendel, who already has the single-season record for assists in a season, needs seven more points to tie and eight to top Uellendahl's points record of 62 set in 2003.
Vendel and the 5-9 Blue Devils finish the season with a non-conference game at Holy Cross on Wednesday April 21.
