Conway Scores Two In Loss to The Mount
Junior Michele Conway scored two goals to lead the Blue Devils, but Central Connecticut State University lost a road game to Mount St. Mary's on Friday by a score of 16-5. Sophomore Ashley Perksoski and freshman Meaghan McCurry each tallied one goal and one assist in the defeat. CCSU falls to 4-7 on the season and 0-6 in Northeast Conference play.

The Mount got on the board first after only 28 seconds when Alexis Salerno fed Meaghan Conlon for the first goal of the game. Central gave up one more score before Conway got the Blue Devils within one on a feed from McCurry.
After one more goal by the Mountaineers, Central tallied two straight to tie the game for the final time with 12:41 to play in the first period. Conway scored her second and Perkoski finished her only goal of the game to make it 3-3. Freshmen Mackenzy Ryan and Betsy Vendel each recorded an assist during the stretch.
Mount St. Mary's scored the next seven goals to take a commanding 10-3 lead with 22:06 to play in the game. Freshman Ashley Mara and McCurry finished off the CCSU scoring as the Blue Devils fell 16-5 to the Mountaineers.
The Mount took advantage of 21 more shot attempts and and 18-6 ground ball advantage in the game. Mount St. Mary's also recorded 18 draw controls to CCSU's five.
Sophomore goalkeeper Erin DeLancey tallied 10 saves and led the Blue Devils with two ground balls. Vendel finished with a team high two draw controls.
Central will continue with a road contest against Monmouth on Sunday, April at 1:00 p.m.
