Vendel Receives Second Rookie of the Week Honor
Betsy Vendel was named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week for her performances during Central Connecticut State University's road victories over Howard and Liberty this week. The freshman receives the honors for the second time this season. Vednel recorded six goals, four assists and nine draw controls for the week, as CCSU defeated Howard 20-8 and Liberty 21-9.

The Sandy Hook, CT native scored two goals, while adding two assists, four ground balls and three draw controls to top Howard on Wednesday. Vendel then tallied four goals, two assists and six draw controls while CCSU defeated Liberty on Friday. She now leads the Blue Devils with 18 goals, 10 assists and 17 draw controls on the season.
Central Connecticut improved to 4-4 on the season with the 2-0 week and will next host Northeast Conference foes Wagner and Long Island on April 1 and 3, respectively.
