Constantin Tabbed NEC Rookie of the Week
Freshman Tori Constantin paced the CCSU offense this past week and earned the NEC Rookie of the Week award for the fourth time this season.
Freshman Tori Constantin of the Central Connecticut softball team was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week, the NEC front office announced on Monday afternoon. Despite a three game slide for the Blue Devils this past week, Constantin was excellent at the plate, hitting .444 (4-for-9) over the three game span.

The freshman, who has now garnered the NEC Rookie of the Week award four times this season, doubled and also drove in a run for the Blue Devils, completing the week with a .556 slugging percentage. She collected two multi-hit games, going 2-for-3 with an RBI on Thursday at Quinnipiac and 2-for-3 with a double in the second game on Saturday at LIU Brooklyn.
Constantin, a rookie from Norfolk, MA, ended the regular season fourth on the team in average at .281, second in home runs with five and third in RBI's with 24, all while making every start for CCSU during her freshman campaign.
Constantin and the Blue Devils will return to the diamond with the start of the 2015 Northeast Conference Tournament this Thursday, May 7. The Blue Devils finished second in the NEC regular season standings with a record of 12-4 and will be the #2 seed at this year's tournament, hosted by Robert Morris in Moon Township, PA.
