Malcolm Named NFCA Division I All-Region
Sophomore Kat Malcolm was named to the Division I All-Region Second Team on Thursday.
Central Connecticut softball sophomore Kat Malcolm earned yet another impressive accolade to go along with several others throughout her stellar 2013 season, including Northeast Conference Player of the Year. On Thursday, Malcolm was named to the 2013 NFCA Division I All-Region Second Team for the Great Lakes region.
2013 NFCA DIVISION I ALL-REGION TEAMS
Malcolm earned the honor among 263 players from 137 different teams across the nation. The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association's 10 regions with first and second teams selected for each region.
The all-region teams were chosen by NFCA member coaches from each respective region, and all of the honorees now become eligible for selection to one of three 2013 NFCA Division I All-American teams. The 2013 Division I NFCA All-America teams will be announced on Wednesday, May 29.
Malcolm has racked up a plethora of awards this season. She was named NEC Player of the Year and Most Improved Player. She was named to the All-NEC First Team, the NEC Tournament team and recently, she was named to the Capital One Academic All-District First Team.
