Men's Soccer Announces Addition of Four Transfers
Central Connecticut men's soccer head coach David Kelly has announced the addition of four incoming transfer student-athletes for the 2025 season. The incoming group will bolster the Blue Devils' group of returnees for the upcoming season.
"It is very exciting to add these four student-athletes to our program," said Kelly. "They are a talented group and bring a wealth of playing experience with them. We look forward to having them help us achieve success on the field while pursuing their academic goals as well."

Nana Nnuro-Frimpong | Munster, IN | Midfield | 5-9
Before CCSU: Attended Gardner-Webb (2023-24) and Eastern Illinois (2021-23)...Appeared in 25 career matches at EIU...Captain Jason Dragos Award...MVP...National Honors Society...Lettered in both soccer and track at Munster HS...A First Team All-Conference selection and Second Team All-District selection playing for coach Jim Prasopoulos...A two-time Academic All-State selection...Played club soccer for Millennium SA for coach Vangel Nacouski.
Kelly on Nnuro-Frimpong: "Nana comes in with several college, and USL 2, seasons under his belt, and he'll be working on his MBA at Central. He's a tough, strong and skillful player who can anchor the midfield. He's a great student, and a top person."
Jake McConnery | St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada | Defense | 6-2
Before CCSU: Attended Eastern Illinois (2023) and Saint Joseph's (2024)...Played in six games at SJU...At Eastern Illinois, started every game and led the team in minutes played for the Panthers…Helped EIU to seven clean sheets on the season…Led Eastern Illinois to OVC Tournament semifinal appearance...Named a Player to Watch...Played for West Texas FC NPSL...Won the Lone Star Conference and made it to the national semifinals...Played Club Soccer for Athlete Institute in Mono, Ontario...Spent time in Germany with U19 Bundesliga side FC Astoria Walldorf...Played two years in MLS NEXT, making the MLS NEXT Cup round of 16 in 2022...Had trials with Watford and Ipswich Town in England.
Kelly on McConnery: " Jake is a player we were interested in when he was coming out of high school a few years ago. He has two solid years of college experience, as well as NPSL experience. He's a big, strong, athletic defender who is equally comfortable on his left or right foot. We expect him to get time right away in a new look defensive line."

Before CCSU: Attended Briar Cliff University (2023-24)...Started 37 games at Briar Cliff, totalling four goals and an assist...GPAC Second Team All-Conference (2023)...Led team to GPAC championship in 2023.
Kelly on Toftevåg: "Herman is a big, strong central defender, who can also play as a holding midfielder because he's such a technical player. He had two great years at Briar Cliff, captaining the team several times as a sophomore. We expect he'll nail down a spot in the heart of our back line."
Nick Washington | Ledyard, CT | Midfield | 5-10
Before CCSU: Attended Providence (2023-24)...Did not appear in a game at PC...Attended Ledyard High School (2018-2022) and South Kent School (2022-2023)…Earned All-America honors (2022).
Kelly on Washington: "Nick is another player that we were interested in when he was coming out of high school. He's had a great experience at Providence, and he comes to us as a much more mature player than he was a few years ago. He versatile, athletic, and good on the ball. Nick can play anywhere across the midfield."
