Men's and Women's Cross Country Earns USTFCCCA 2018 All-Academic Team Award
After displaying excellence in the classroom and on the competition field, the student-athletes of the Central Connecticut men's and women's cross country teams were acknowledged by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Thursday, February 14.
Both teams were named to the 2018 NCAA Division I Cross Country All-Academic lists for achieving a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale.
Overall, there were 427 teams that earned All-Academic recognition. Both the men's and women's cross country team earned a combined GPA of 3.17 for the fall of 2018.
Both teams were one of five Northeast Conference teams to receieve the national recognition. On the men's side the Blue Devils joined Bryant (3.41), Fairleigh Dickinson (3.12), Sacred Heart (3.35) and Saint Francis University (3.46). CCSU women joined Bryant (3.65), Fairleigh Dickinson (3.09), Sacred Heart (3.45) and Saint Francis University (3.77) on the list.
