Piotto Leads Blue Devils at the NCAA Northeast Regional Championships
The Blue Devils finished 27th out of 34 teams.
The Central Connecticut men's cross country team finished 27th out of 34 teams that competed at the 2018 NCAA Northeast Regional Championships on Friday Nov. 9. The meet was hosted by the University of Buffalo at the Audubon Golf Course in Buffalo, NY. CCSU ran the 10K course at an average time of 36:15.
Junior Roberto Piotto finished first for the Blue Devils in the top-100 at 59th place out of a field of 241 runners. Piotto crossed the line at 34:25.9.
Next in for Central was junior Richard Grudzwick and Charlie Taubl at 153rd and 171st place respectively. Grudzwick finished with a time of 35:57.6 and Tubl 36:33.7.
Senior Patrick Halloran and rookie Robert Moore were the fourth and fifth CCSU members to come in. Halloran placed 185th after running 36:53.7 and Moore recorded a time of 37:28.6 in 199th place.
Rounding out the New Britain runners were junior Arredondo and rookie Tim McNamara. Arredondo finished the 10K course with a time of 37:56.1 and McNamara crossed at 41:50.9.
CCSU competes at the IC4A/ECAC Championships on Saturday, Nov. 17 in Madison, WI.
