Norstrom Receives Second NEC Athlete of the Week Honor

Alex Norstrom earns his second consecutive men's cross country athlete of the week honor.

Senior Alex Norstrom was named Northeast Conference Athlete of the Week, it was announced by league office Wednesday afternoon.

Norstrom edged out two teammates by a tenth of a second to win the Ted Owen Invitational on Saturday, and claim his second consecutive NEC Athlete of the Week honor. The senior led the pack of Blue Devils to finish the 8K course in 26:45.1 as Central defended its home course with a dominating team victory in a field that included runners from Sacred Heart, Bryant and Fairleigh Dickinson.

The Conventry native will look to continue the momentum into the New England Championship where he finished 15th last season.

Men's cross country returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 6, at the New England Championships in Boston, MA.
