Men's Cross Country Seeks Another NEC Title on Saturday
The 2018 Northeast Conference Cross Country Championships are on Saturday, October 27, in Smithfield, RI.
The Central Connecticut men's cross country squad will look to defend its title at the 2018 Northeast Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 27, in Smithfield, RI. Joining the Blue Devils in the quest for this year's NEC championship will be Bryant, Fairleigh Dickinson, Mount St. Mary's, Sacred Heart, St. Francis Brooklyn, Saint Francis U and Wagner. CCSU has won the last nine NEC crowns and will seek another in the men's race at 12:00 p.m. in the 8K race. Highlights and interviews from the cross country championships will be posted after the races on NEC Front Row.
NEC CHAMPIONSHIP HEADQUARTERS | COURSE MAP
Senior Alex Norstrom and junior Roberto Piotto, finished fifth and seventh, respectively, at last season's championship to earn All-NEC honors and will again look to pace the Blue Devils' contingent. Head coach Eric Blake will look to extend his run of success at the helm of the CCSU program, which includes 15 total Northeast Conference Championships (9-XC, 6-Track).
The championship will take place on the Bryant University Cross Country Course. The women's race will take place at 11:00 a.m. and an awards ceremony will follow the men's race at approximately 1:00 p.m.
