Volleyball Falls to Fairleigh Dickinson 3-1
The Central Connecticut volleyball team suffered its first conference loss of the season, dropping a four set match to Fairleigh Dickinson Sunday afternoon. The Blue Devils are now 3-10 on the season and 1-1 in Northeast Conference action. Central was led by sophomore Blaike King who had 16 kills.
The Central Connecticut volleyball team suffered its first conference loss of the season, dropping a four set match to Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday afternoon. The Blue Devils are now 3-10 on the season and 1-1 in Northeast Conference action. Central was led by sophomore Blaike King who had 16 kills.
Fairleigh Dickinson won sets one, three, and four to take the match 3-1. The Blue Devils allowed six unanswered points to end the first set giving FDU a 25-23 victory. The Knights pulled away late again in the third set winning 25-20, and they followed it with a 25-22 victory in the fourth set.
Sophomore Emily Cochran led the Blue Devils with five kills in the second set. Central won the set 26-24 after scoring back-to-back points to break a 24-24 tie.
Senior Amanda Bayer led the Blue Devils with 45 assists on the day. Classmate Kaitlin Petrella made 21 digs for Central and sophomore Blaike King had a team high 16 kills in the match.
The Blue Devils return to action on October 2, at St. Francis.
