Women's Golf Finishes Ninth at NEC Championships
The Central Connecticut women's golf team finished ninth at the 2011 Northeast Conference Championships. The Blue Devils were led by sophomore Anna Ausanio who finished tied for sixth at the event. Ausanio shot the best round of the tournament for a Blue Devil on Saturday with a 75 in the final round. As a team the Blue Devils posted their best round on Saturday shooting a 343, they finished with a 1037 strokes for the three round event.

Ausanio posted rounds of 81, 78 and 75 to finish tied for sixth with 234 strokes. Freshman Elisabeth Beloin finished 34th as she improved every round posting a 91, 88 and then an 85 to finish with 264 strokes.
Right behind Beloin in a tie for fifth place was sophomore Katie Reid. Reid shot 82, 93, and 90 to finish with 265 strokes for the match.
Freshman Gina Grant finished 44th with 275 strokes. She shot rounds of 92, 90 and 93. Senior Chelsea Woods shot a 91, 106, and 94 to finish in 49th with 291 strokes.
Ausanio will be named All-Northeast Conference for her performance at the event.
The NEC Championships mark the end of the women's golf season. The Blue Devils will return to action in the fall with a full schedule of events.
