Ireland Earns NEC Track Athlete of the Week Award
After competing at the Wagner College Invite this weekend in Staten Island, NY Jacob Ireland was named the Northeast Conference's Track Athlete of the Week.
After competing at the Wagner College Invite this weekend in Staten Island, NY Jacob Ireland was named the Northeast Conference's Track Athlete of the Week.
Ireland opened his indoor season with a first-place finish in the 800m (1:56.72) and a second-place finish in the mile (4:10.68).
Ireland was also named a Prime Performer alongside teammates Edward Williams Jr. and Kymoy Phillip. Williams ran the 60m hurdle with a time of 8.29 to place 1st as well as a second place finish in the 200m (22.26). Kymoy Phillip's debut for the Blue Devils ended in two first-place finishes. He helped the 4x400 team take home the top spot (3:22.57) as well as a first-place finish in the 500m (1:06.15).
The Blue Devils will be back in action this weekend at the Umass Invitational.
