Men's Soccer Downed at St. Francis Brooklyn, 2-0
The Blue Devils return home to host Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday.
A pair of second half goals proved to be the difference as the Central Connecticut men's soccer was downed by St. Francis Brooklyn, 2-0, on Friday night at Brooklyn Bridge Park
CCSU goes to 2-9-2 overall on the season and is 1-2 in the NEC.
The teams were scoreless after the first half and the score remained even until the 54th minute. Fabian Suele got on the end of a free kick and passes from Jules Paillard and Collyns Laokandi to head home the first goal and make it 1-0.
The Terriers added a score in the 82nd minute after Leonard Kirschner headed home a pass from Laokandi to make it 2-0.
The Blue Devils ended the night with a 5-3 edge in corner kicks, while the Terriers held a 18-5 margin in shots. Senior Nick Velleca made eight saves for CCSU.
Central is back in action on Sunday, Oct. 23, against Fairleigh Dickinson. The Blue Devils host the Knights for a 3:00 p.m. kickoff.
