CCSU Men's Golf Places Third at Northeast Collegiate Invitational, Buczak Ties for Sixth
Central Connecticut senior Tim Buczak tied for sixth at the Northeast Collegiate Invitational. His 76-72 day on the Green Valley Golf Club in Portsmouth, RI led the Blue Devils to a fifth place team finish in the 36-hole event.

CCSU opened the day with a 303 team score. Sophomore Tom Ursa shot a 73 to lead the Blue Devils over the first 18 holes. Central Connecticut posted a 307 in the afternoon round. Buczak's 72 led the team.
Ursa closed his day with an 80 to tie for 13th. Sophomore Eric Hawerchuk shot 76-76 to finish 12th. Sophomore Sam Pelletier shot 82-79, and freshman Tucker Dooley carded rounds of 78-84.
Sacred Heart senior Patrick Fillian led the Pioneers to the team title. Fillian earned medalist honors with rounds of 68 and 73. Sacred Heart posted 289 and 301 to beat Hartford by three strokes. Rhode Island finished third at 598, and Dartmouth were fourth at 605.
Central Connecticut is off until May 1, when the Blue Devils will travel to the ChampionsGate Golf Club in ChampionsGate, FL for the Northeast Conference Championships.
