Blue Devils Tie for Fourth in Rain-Shortened New England Division I Championships
Central Connecticut tied for fourth at the New England Division I Championships on Triggs Memorial Golf Course in Providence, RI. The second day of the event was shortened to nine holes due to inclement weather. Sophomore Tom Ursa and freshman Tucker Dooley each shot two-over par 37 for the Blue Devils. Sophomore Eric Hawerchuk had the team's top two-day total. He posted a 113 (74-39) to tie for seventh on the individual leaderboard. CCSU totaled a 460 team score, tying Rhode Island for fourth place in the 10-team field.

Ursa followed up an opening round 78 with today's 37. He tied for 16th. Senior Tim Buczak and Dooley tied for 28th at 119. Buczak shot 44 today. Sophomore Sam Pelletier rounded out the Blue Devil field. He shot 78-42.
Sacred Heart senior Patrick Fillian and sophomore David Renski led the Pioneers to the team title. The duo was part of a four-way tie atop the individual standings with 110 totals. Binghamton sophomore Jake Katz and Bryant junior Jason Thresher also shot 110. The Pioneers posted a 446 team total. They defeated Binghamton by six strokes. Bryant took third place at 455.
Central Connecticut will participate in the Peacock Invitational hosted by Saint Peter's on Tuesday, Apr. 14. The one-day event will take place on the Neshanic Valley Golf Course.
